As the managing director of the Vancouver office, Susan provides strategic, executive and financial leadership while maintaining the high level of design excellence. During her 20-year tenure with the firm, her role has evolved from project architect and associate to principal and director of operations. During this time Susan has contributed to the growth and evolution of the practice including its commitment to becoming an international leader in sustainable design. Susan has broad expertise in managing academic as well as corporate, civic and commercial projects. Her ability to combine leading-edge sustainability with design excellence won the firm a Governor General Medal, the highest architectural honor in Canada that celebrates outstanding design.
Susan holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies degree and Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Waterloo. She was a founding member of the Vancouver Branch of the USGBC Cascadia Chapter and became a board member of the Cascadia Chapter in 2003. Susan's focus as managing director is to ensure that the Vancouver office continues to diversify its services and innovate at the highest level while maintaining its legacy of design excellence and positioning at the forefront of sustainable design.
