As the Design Director for our Boston office, Rick brings over 30 years of design excellence with an impressive portfolio of civic, academic, cultural and institutional projects throughout the United States and around the globe. His work has been recognized with over 45 AIA national, regional and local design awards for design excellence and sustainability and has been extensively published in leading architectural design publications. Rick believes in a holistic and highly integrated approach to architectural design by creatively integrating all disciplines of the built environment into his projects. His design work strives to synthesize everything from the overall site to the finest details into a hierarchical, interwoven assembly of well-balanced pieces. Rick is passionate about collaboration and in his role partners with our clients to find highly creative solutions reflective of their culture and passion as an institution.
Prior to relocating to Boston, Rick was a Design Principal and Lead Designer at The Freelon Group which joined forces with Perkins+Will in 2014. He received his Bachelor Degree in Architecture from the University of Florida and received a Master in Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
