Rick continually advances the exploration of contemporary, idea-driven work and strengthens our passion for the innovative and sustainable-driven architecture that our clients have come to expect from Perkins+Will. With more than 30 years of experience, he has built an impressive design portfolio of academic, civic, and institutional projects throughout the United States, Asia, and the Middle East. His architecture is dramatic and rational with a focus on high-performance envelopes, relation to the land, and metaphor-driven ideas inspired by the client and site.
Within the past 15 years Rick has earned more than 45 national, regional and local AIA Design Awards for design excellence and sustainability and has been featured in many national publications including the New York Times, Washington Post, Architectural Record, Architect and Eco-Structure. In his role as Design Director, Rick elevates the culture of design within the Boston studio of Perkins+Will by leading a collaborative design process that reinforces the firm’s commitment to meeting the needs of each client through innovative and thoughtful design.
