The Denver studio of Perkins+Will is led by a seasoned leadership team that has maintained an outstanding presence in the city for 55 years. Known as Sink Combs Dethlefs prior to joining Perkins+Will, the office is recognized nationally as a leader in all genres of sports, athletic, recreation and multi-purpose event center design and renovation. The 50-person office has contributed its expertise to 250+ sports and athletic projects throughout the United States, Canada, Asia, and the Philippines, working closely with public agencies, municipalities, universities, and private organizations to create designs that meet the specific needs of the owners and users.

The Denver office is housed in an 89-year-old building that was constructed in 1928 as a Studebaker dealership and was later transformed into the Rainbow Ballroom, which was once one of the best-known dance halls west of the Mississippi. The original dance hall posters, found under the floorboards during the renovation, are displayed in the building’s lobby. The building’s exposed steel structure and soaring wood barrel vault provided the designers with unique design features transforming what was once Denver’s premier big-band music venue into a functional office environment.
