Two Perkins+Will Emerging Leaders Recognized as “Under 40” Rising Stars

Two of Perkins+Will’s next generation leaders have been named to BD+C’s “40 Under 40 Class of 2016” for their accomplishments and contributions to the architecture and design field. Benjamin Welle, director of Perkins+Will’s Energy Research Lab, and Breeze Glazer, a sustainable design expert, are recognized in the October issue of BD+C for being “smart, driven, well-rounded superstars” in their profession.

Welle, noted as the “Energy Doctor” of the class, is based out of Perkins+Will’s Minneapolis office. He oversees the firm’s research into energy performance design analysis and optimization. He holds a B.S. in Energy Engineering, an M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering/Atmosphere and Energy, and a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering/Design Construction Integration from Stanford University. He also holds an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering/Thermal Sciences from the University of California at San Diego.

Glazer, noted as the “Sustainability Star” of the class, is based out of Perkins+Will’s New York office and currently co-leads the sustainable healthcare practice across the firm. He helps define the firm’s sustainability goals and collaborates on the creation of a strategic firm-wide roadmap for attaining those goals. He’s overseen more than 30 large-scale LEED projects, five of which were LEED Platinum. He holds a BArch and an MArch from Tulane University.
