Perkins+Will’s Ranking for Sports Facility Design Soars to No. 5 on BD+C Giants Report

Ranking is a 320-Percent Increase from 2014, Reflecting Growth of Firm’s Sports and Recreation Practice

Perkins+Will has been ranked one of the biggest sports and recreation design firms in the world by Building Design + Construction (BD+C), earning the No. 5 spot on the magazine’s annual Giants Report list for the first time.

The ranking, which jumped four spots from last year and 16 spots since 2014, reflects the firm’s growth in the sports and recreation sector. It is based on overall design revenues for sports training facilities, stadiums, and arenas for K-12 schools, higher education systems, community centers, healthcare institutions, and professional athletic teams.

“It’s an honor to be recognized for our contributions to the sports and recreation sector, as physical fitness is key to overall health and well-being, and that is of paramount importance to Perkins+Will,” says David Dymecki, principal. “We look forward to continuing to make a positive, healthy impact on the lives of students, athletes, and others around the world through our design.”

Recent and ongoing projects include the Ryan/Walter Athletics Center at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois; the Baylor, Scott, and White Sports Therapy and Research facility for the Dallas Cowboys at The Star in Frisco, Texas; the Snyder Center multi-sport field house and squash center at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts; and the York Recreation Center in Toronto, Ontario.
